Frontier To Expand Broadband in Illinois

Frontier Communications will invest $40 million in the state of Illinois over the next year, mainly to bring broadband services to rural and small towns. In July, Frontier, took over 4.8 million landlines in Illinois and thirteen other states that were previously operated by Verizon. Springfield-area communities now served by Frontier include Chatham, Jacksonville, Lincoln, Waverly, Virden, Auburn, Loami, Girard, Pawnee, Sherman, Pleasant Plains, New Berlin, Elkhart, Williamsville, Divernon and Illiopolis.
